Handcrafted Honeys

  • Clover Honey comes from a purple clover flower you see growing in fields produces a light coloured and mild flavour of honey. Best used in tea to sweeten. Most children enjoy this kind! This is the best kind to mix in a warm lemon, honey and water drink if you have a sore throat.
  • Linden Honey comes from linden (or basswood) trees and is a beautiful light colour-honey with a prominent floral taste. It is one of the honeys known for “calming” effects.
  • Wild Flower Honey is a variety of flowers produces a medium-coloured honey with a slightly stronger taste to that of clover. Great used in sauces, smoothies and on toast.
  • Creamed Honey is liquid honey mixed with granulated honey (we hold a batch back from each production) and add it to the next batch of liquid. Once packaged, it’s stored in a cold room to set. It makes a “peanut butter” consistency, a spreadable honey. Perfect on toast!
  • Blueberry Honey  is a slightly darker honey, where this one doesn’t taste like “blueberries” the bee does gather the nectar from the blossoms of the blueberry bush, it has a thick texture and is a stronger tasting honey, again wonderful on toast and in smoothies or baking.
  • Buckwheat Honey is the darkest, strongest tasting honey, gathered from a white flower known as the “buckwheat” flower, believed to be the “healthiest” honey for its high properties of antioxidants and vitamins, a lingering after taste – again one of our popular honeys! Some customers tell us they love to use it in their baking as the strong flavor really comes out, they also mix it in their coffee or in warm water.

Specialty Honeys

“Specialty Honeys” all have different medicinal properties. These include:
  • Propolis & Honey is excellent for sore throats. It is a natural antibiotic that bees gather from trees, using it to seal their hive as a natural protection against disease. The easiest way to take is off the end of a teaspoon: swallow it with a warm drink, 2 times per day.
  • Propolis Tincture is also excellent for sore throats, mixed with pure food alcohol. Make a warm lemonade drink with water, lemon juice, honey and a dropper full of propolis, 2 times per day.
  • Royal Jelly Frozen is the exclusive food that honey bees feed to the queen of the hive in her larvae stage. It is a substance secreted from the glands of the worker nurse bees. It contains minerals, enzymes and antibacterial components. When humans ingest the Royal Jelly, it is believed to improve their Immune system, help with inflammation and improve impotence in men. Best taken on its own, under the tongue on an empty stomach.
  • Royal Jelly & Honey is used to improve the immune system. Makes a great spread on toast or crackers (don’t heat or put it in a warm drink as it will destroy the Royal Jelly properties)
  • Bee Pollen is a ball of pollen made by young bees when they land on a flower. It’s a mixture of pollen from the flower, bee saliva and nectar or honey. Bees carry these balls back to the hive in the sacs on their legs and stored in the hives honeycomb. One of the most common uses of bee pollen is for seasonal allergies such as hay fever. It is thought that when ingesting pollens, it will help the body build up the resistance to these potential allergens and in turn reduce the allergy symptoms. *Local bee pollen is ideal to take when taking it for allergies.* It is also good for building energy.
  • Ginseng & Honey increases energy levels, improve cognitive function and support the immune system. It is also said to manage blood glucose levels and reduce inflammation (please consult a doctor prior to taking it if you have any concerns.) It is also known for it’s antioxidant properties.
  • Cinnamon & Honey is yummy on toast! It is also known for healing benefits such as heart health and wound healing.
  • Pollen & Honey increases energy levels, used to help with seasonal flower/tree allergies. It’s great on toast, crackers or add to a smoothie
